Copper extraction · Engineering in context
See the process. Open the possibilities.
From the first feed to concentrate, every stage depends on machinery, measurements and connected systems. Explore the plant and discover where we can support your operation.
One plant, many systems
A representative copper sulphide concentrator, not a site design. The concentrator includes several circuits; flotation is one of them. Motion is illustrative. Equipment ratings and operating conditions vary.
The connected plant
Follow the copper-bearing ore
Select equipment to open it. Activate the map to drag, pinch or use arrow keys. Escape exits map controls.
Ore, slurry and concentrate move through different paths. Recycle and water lines are schematic; the exact circuit varies by site.

Support follows the process
From a field device to the wider system
Use each stage to identify the equipment, measurements or communication interfaces you want to discuss. Installation, maintenance, integration and supply are scoped around the actual application.
Concentrate is part of the copper story
This explorer focuses on the sulphide concentrator, concentrate dispatch and tailings/water interfaces. It does not depict a complete smelter, refinery or leach circuit. Subsequent copper recovery follows the selected ore and process route.
Technical references and illustration boundaries
- Copper extraction and beneficiation
EPA technical background: crushing, grinding, flotation and process boundaries. Historical reference, not a site design.
- Mechanical flotation mixing
An equipment example for mixing. Cell mechanisms and air arrangements vary.
- Flotation air and level control
An equipment reference for air and level concepts, without adopting model-specific ratings.
- Over-belt elemental analysis
A conveyor application reference. This does not establish slurry compatibility.
- Slurry elemental analysis
A separate slurry application using suitable sampling and analysis equipment.
- Operational technology systems
NIST's final OT guidance: monitoring, control and system boundaries.
- Sampling and preparation for XRF
Analytical quality background; not a conveyor or slurry installation procedure.
External sources provide technical context. Their inclusion does not imply representation, endorsement or a partnership. Artwork is original and schematic.
